Comfort, confidence & little moments of joy—chosen with care by Rita.
I know black is easy.
It goes with everything. It hides everything. It is usually the first thing we grab when we do not feel like thinking about what to wear.
And listen, I love a good black outfit too. But sometimes adding a little color can completely change how you feel.
Not because we need to be loud or dressed up every day. Just because a soft blue top, a fun print, a colorful handbag, or even a pair of earrings can make an ordinary day feel a little less ordinary.
You do not have to change your whole style. You can just add a little more you to it.
Color does not have to be scary
A lot of women think wearing color means they have to walk out in something neon or wear a bold pattern from head to toe.
Nope.
Color can be soft. It can be a dusty pink, a pretty blue, a rich burgundy, olive green, or even a floral print mixed in with pieces you already love.
Start with colors that make you happy when you see them. The ones you are naturally drawn to when you are shopping or scrolling.
If it makes you smile, that is a pretty good sign.
Start small if that feels better
You do not need to completely step outside your comfort zone all at once.
Try adding one colorful piece to an outfit you already know you like:
- A soft colored top with your favorite jeans
- A floral cardigan over a basic tee
- A fun handbag with a simple black outfit
- A pretty pair of earrings or a bracelet set
- A colorful shoe, sandal, or sneaker

That is it. One little change.
Sometimes that one piece is enough to make you look in the mirror and think, “Okay… I actually like this.”
Wear what makes you feel good
We spend enough time worrying about whether something is too much, too bright, too young, too old, too trendy, or not trendy enough.
Wear the color.
Wear the print.
Carry the bag you love.
If it makes you feel good, it belongs in your closet.
There are no rules saying you have to dress a certain way once you hit a certain age, reach a certain size, or decide you are “not a color person.” You get to decide what feels right for you.
Let your clothes bring a little joy
Your clothes do not have to be serious all the time.
Some days you may want soft and simple. Some days you may want a little sparkle, a bold bag, a pretty floral, or a color that makes you feel more awake.
Both can be you.
That is one of my favorite things about clothing and accessories. They are a simple way to show a little personality without saying a word.
So next time you reach for the same safe outfit, maybe add one thing that feels a little different. You may be surprised how much it changes your mood. 💜
